STATEMENT:  "The Artist Series"
I wanted to painting the artist who were actively involved in the proccess of making paintings
So I took my pencil, pastel and watercolors a star drew The Artist ad work.
In each painting I create a diferent studio in color,composition with models is like I travel to
diferent places. I travel with my imagination, this give me more strend this characterized by vivid colors and powerfull compositions. like this painting is a red wich a give to express erotic and sensual with a visual dialoge betwen the artist and modelin a figurative way

BIOGRAPHY:


Francisco Vidal grew up in Barranquilla,Colombia and Study Art in the Facultity of Bellas Artes in Barranquilla for 3 years, with Master Alejandro Obregon and  James Lallemand them move to New York.To fine my way
Hi recived a Fellowship from Jerome Foudation to learned Lithography in 1984 .New York City
A fellowship (Studio Space) form P.S.1, National and International Studio Program, Project Studios One,from 1984 to 1986 ( 2 years),Long Island City,New York.
A Fellowship in money from Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation National Endowment for The Arts,Regional Fellowship,Baltimore,Maryland,1992.
I have Shows Paintings,Sculptures and Drawings in several shows in Museums and galleries in New York and others City,s of U.S.A and in Monterrey,Mexico,Colombia,Italy,Spain,Argentina
I currently working on paintings,Watercolors and mixed-media drawings.
I work every day and i put 60 to 100 paintings a year and enjoy my visual dialoge

ARTIST STATEMENT

This photo is a painting about the model and lover with the artist and in the same time show a instalation with clotings and chair fruit brushed.francisco Vidal (c)




My work is Figurative.I produce series with themes like "The Carnival",The Nudes" ,"The Artist in the studio","The Model, "The Artist ad work","The Artist and the model" ,"The General",and a new one called: "Woman and Still life on the Beach". This is referring to the thematic.

The process is throught departing from the idea of imagining a space to express Love,Hate,Violence,Peace and Hope dependent in the idea in a Contemporary language.

The discover is using the imagination since I work without a model in front of me.It is a poetic-spiritual-erotic dialogue that together forms a whirlwind which is the result of a beatiful visual dialogue.

I process everything in different steps like small formats of ink paper,pastel,watercolor,oil on canvas paper and wood which are the surfaces. The format starts from small to large and this is the way it enriches the creative process and flow in order to express my dialogue.
I working in a new one "The Artist"is a dialoge about the idea of recreation a dialoge betwen the artist and model everthing happen in the studio wich is imaginary in form and color
